On Saturday night, the racing conditions were optimal, with clear skies and a sticky track. The Taylor Motorsports machine started the night in Heat race # 3, second row inside.

At the start Greg quickly moved up to second place, right behind the #17 car of Jimmy Crawford. These two cars developed a full straightaway lead from the rest of the pack. The #7 car was at its best on the high side of the track, which made it hard to pass on the bottom. As the white flag came out #17 and #7 were one and two all the way to the checkered.

A second place in the heat race put Greg fourth row inside for the main event. As the green flag came out, Greg got a good start and quickly passed a car. A yellow came out on the third lap and Greg was in 6th place. It was green again, and on the next lap Greg passed another car. Another yellow came out and the #7 car was now in 5th place! He was moving up to the front quickly. The green waved and by the 10th lap Greg had passed the #3 of Richard Renkin, and the #52 of Jeff Heaton. Already in 3rd place, Greg had a good chance at the win. Greg and the #20 of Gary Howard were now battling for the second place position and the race was already halfway over. Lap traffic approached and Greg was inching closer to the leader. All of the sudden the #7 car left the track, with a broken drive shaft. A case of bad luck struck, and the night was over for the Taylor Motorsports team.

Great job Greg, the Crew, and all the support from everybody else. Keep up the good work! These things sometimes happen, but we'll do better next time!
